A woman comes back from vacation with exactly as much energy as she left with. And then the opposite happens: two days in a certain place and she walks out of it different, though she did nothing in particular. The difference is not the number of days off or the rating of the hotel. On why some places restore a woman all by themselves, Peruquois, a top World Music performer in Australia, a musician, composer, author and facilitator of personal development trainings for women.
Why she works in the mountains
Peruquois grew up on the ocean and has worked with the elements her whole life, so her reaction to high mountain country is worth hearing.
When she first went into those mountains she could not believe that beauty like that existed there at all. Her decision came immediately: this is where she wants to bring women for her seminars.
“This is exactly where I want to work, online or offline, it does not matter, because these are places of clean energy, feminine energy,” says Peruquois.
The word clean is meant literally.
In places like that the usual background a city woman lives inside is absent: other people's demands, other people's moods, the noise of information, the necessity of being reachable at all times. And it is not only the outer noise that drops away. The part of her inner work that constantly calculates how she looks and what people think of her goes quiet as well.
Peruquois describes the force of such places through a comparison with orgasm. She is speaking about a state in which the body is fully open and energy moves through it with nothing in the way. “Living an experience like that is of great value to me,” she says.
This is why she returns there again and again: to restore herself and to pass that energy on. Through her own body she transmits it to people, so that they feel the connection with nature.
Why a woman needs this more than it seems
A woman's nature is cyclical and connected to the earth directly. City life does not cancel that connection, it simply gives it almost no room to show itself.
The body spends the whole day indoors at an even temperature, under the same light, in the same posture. The feet go months without touching ground. The eyes see no horizon farther than the next building. The ear hears nothing but machines and speech.
In the mountains all of it comes back at once. There is real distance you can take in with your eyes. There is silence with depth in it. There is water, air and stone that want nothing from you.
And a woman discovers rather quickly that her chronic tiredness was resting on the absence of exactly these things.
It is not only the mountains
The principle is what works, and you can apply it where you live.
You need nature that exists independently of people and has not been rebuilt for their convenience. You need enough time for the inner hurry to settle, and one day is rarely enough for that. You need the body involved in what is happening: walking, water, wind, cold, the warmth of sun on skin. And you need the absence of a task, because places of power are not somewhere you achieve anything.
A river outside town, a forest, a shoreline, any point where the land stayed itself will give a woman the same thing on a smaller scale. The difference is one of size.
The connection worth keeping open
Strength comes back to a woman through connection: with her own body, with the earth, with what is larger than her. Places of clean energy simply make that connection obvious, because there it happens by itself, with no effort and no technique.
The rest of the time she has to hold it open herself, and the thicker the other people's moods and demands around her, the more it matters to know how to take her own field back.
