Biography
 
Peruquois has been known internationally as 'the singing woman' due to
her unique voice, and in her live performances the ability to dissolve the boundaries of separation between the audience and the singer.
Australian born from a musical family, Peruquois originally trained in Jazz at the Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts. After being deeply
involved with the jazz scene in Sydney in the early 90 'she left jazz to explore cultural music traditions that carried the knowledge of healing with the voice .She went through an 11 year apprenticeship to Native American Elder John Twobirds in New Mexico.In more recent years she has trained with
Hindustani classical vocalist Sunanda Sharma and Ritesh Mishra in Delhi
India.
Now residing in Melbourne Australia she gives workshops locally and internationally in 'Opening the Sacred Voice' for women and concerts with musicians from the contemporary World Music scene.

USA, New Zealand and Australia.
has collaborated with many musicians; Tom Simenauer of Goma who is also Krishna Das' accompanist on tablas; Matt James and GangaGiri - renowned didge players; Ben Last - producer of Mantrix; Avishai Bar Natan of the Israeli World Music group Sheva; Maneesh De Moor - producer/keyboardist; and Dheeraj Shrestha - recognized as Australia's leading tabla player; The world music group Dya Singh; Roger Bradshaw of world music group Jabaru; Wendy Rule - Melbourne
singer songwriter; Tenzing Tsewang -Australian based Tibetan singer; Elliot Orr - one of Australia's leading djembe players; and inspired multi instrumentalist Chris Lane of Oka
Peru's initial independent CD release was in 2000 with 'Awaken the Snake', followed by 'The Sacred Opening' in 2003. Her release in Oct 2006 was 'Love's Deepest Calling'  feauturing Pin Rada middle eastern instrumentalist .This work has captured much interest globally. In 2009 Peruquois released a chant workshop cd for women called 'Opening the Sacred Voice'.  She has aso created a 30 min daily vocal practise caled Vocal Yoga,rooted in the indian classical vocal training fused with her breathing in connection with the earth methods.In 2009 she also recorded Breathing Love ,a tantra cd devoted to lovers with wind instrumentalist Praful from Holland. The cd was recorded in Holland with dutch,turkish and Iranian accompanists. Also a Film clip was released featuring Kissing the Spirit Awake from the Breathing Love cd
